Meet Mamaw
Mamaw has been cooking for friends and guests for over sixty years. She is a woman who cherishes her faith, family and friends and has always done that with food. She now wants to be a blessing to you.
Mamaw is a Cook! Not just in cooking food, but also it was her maiden name! She came from a long line of cooks and Cook's, and her grandparents owned a few restaurants back when times were different and people leaned on each other to get by. Mamaw is having fun sharing her life stories with you all and we hope you will join all her social media links and also join THE FAMILY TABLE, for additional content.
It's all just good old-fashioned recipes she grew up on for your enjoyment. You will not necessarily lose weight on these recipes or cut carbs, but you sure will enjoy the flavors, smells and memories behind them.
Mamaw's Story
"A few years ago, my daughter pushed me to put together a cookbook of my family's favorite recipes and also pair them with childhood stories and a collection of memories from other family members and encouraging scriptures and she would assemble it and co-write. The goal was to provide my grandchildren and great grands a special gift they could cherish to learn more about where they came from. Recently, I decided to record myself assembling recipes, telling stories and even playing piano for followers on Tik Tok and Instagram. Well, you are all responding and I am thrilled. My daughter felt like we needed one central place for all our new friends and followers to connect and because of you, we are launching this website and now THE FAMILY TABLE, where you can get additional recipes, personal stories and things I want to share with you, as well as follow me on socials (FB, TikTok, Insta). There are links below to follow me if you are not already.
My faith is front and center, so get ready! My goal has always been to preserve THE FAMILY TABLE and its importance in building strong families and hopefully inspire families to see its value and spend more time together in the kitchen creating delicious meals." - Mamaw
What Cook's Know
"The art of cooking has been lost through generations, as we lean more and more on pre-packaged foods, but mom wants to preserve the legacy of ‘the recipe’ and the 'family table' for generations to come in our family AND now in yours! Food can bring people together when nothing else will. It is ‘the’ great unifier, because we all eat and we all were created to enjoy the company of others. In fact, the kitchen is where we spend most of our time. It is also a great healer. Oh, we know there is LIFE in food, because we have to have it to live. But, also, as we create with our hands and minds through cooking, there is a self-discovery that happens, that can restore and heal through the senses of taste, sight, smell, hearing and touch.
It is about passing down heritage and the value of learning from those who have gone before us in the family, through our faith and with food.
